Chemical Plant Supplying Effluent to Neighbouring Chemical Plant

Summary

Coogee Chemicals sends its treated excess water from the evaporation pond (mainly stormwater and boiler blowdown) to the neighbouring chemical plant (CSBP) for disposal through their effluent treatment system. CSBP discharges its treated effluent into the deep ocean outfall through the Water Corporation pipeline, thereby eliminating process water discharges to a sensitive marine environment (Cockburn Sound).
