Coal-Fired Power Station Supplying Demineralised Water to Neighbouring Gas-Fired Power Station

Summary

Western Power’s coal-fired power station in Kwinana supplies excess high quality water generated from their reverse osmosis (RO) treatment system to its neighbouring gas-fired power station. The water treatment system processes water extracted from the groundwater under their fly-ash storage area in order to control the groundwater plume under the stockpile. The gas-fired power station uses the supplied RO water as boiler feed water.
