Coal-Fired Power Station Supplying Demineralised Water to Chemical Plant

Summary

Western Power’s coal-fired power station in Kwinana supplies excess high quality water generated from their reverse osmosis (RO) treatment system to CSBP (industrial chemical and fertiliser producer). The water treatment system processes water extracted from the groundwater under their fly-ash storage area in order to control the groundwater plume under the stockpile. The RO water partly replaced scheme water use at CSBP.
