Cogeneration Facility for the Titanium Dioxide Pigment Plant

Summary

Built in 1999, a cogeneration facility (40 MWh), owned by the State’s energy company Western Power, provides superheated steam for the process needs at the Tiwest Pigment Plant. Tiwest has the ability to “island”, taking electricity directly from the cogeneration plant. For the majority of the time, however, the cogeneration plant feeds the grid with Tiwest drawing power from the grid.
