Reuse of Off-Spec Material from a Carbon Black Manufacturer as a Foaming Slag Additive

Summary

One synergy close to implementation is the reuse of off-spec material from a carbon black manufacturer as a foaming slag additive or as a low grade fuel mixed with coke, by a steel making company. Carbon black is the material produced by the incomplete combustion of petroleum products which is similar to soot but with a much higher surface area to volume ratio. Carbon black is primarily used for din tyre manufacturing.
