Steam and Power Cogeneration Project

Summary

This cogeneration project began in 1995 by joining the gas fired turbines at Dow Chemicals and oil fired turbines at Bayer Rubber to produce electricity and steam for on site use. The surplus steam is supplied to the Novacor Chemicals Sarnia polystyrene unit. Electricity not directly used by Bayer or Dow is sold to Ontario Hydro and fed to the grid.
