Use of Biosludge from Wastewater Treatment Plant for Bioremediation

Summary

Sludge is a major residual product stemming from the municipal wastewater treatment plant in Kalundborg. The sludge is utilised at Bioteknisk Jordrens Soilrem as a nutrient in the bio-remediation process. In this way, a by-product from one process is applied as a useful resource in another process (Kalundborg Centre for Industrial Symbiosis 2004).
