Recycling of Discarded Electronic Appliances Providing Inputs for the Steel Industry

Summary

Used home electronics appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, air-conditioners, TV sets) discharged from the City are recycled as iron making material after the processes of recovery of coolant chlorofluorocarbon, crushing, and sorting. This project started in 2001, as part of the Home Appliances Recycling Law, and can process 400,000 to 500,000 units/year.
