7th International Quality Alumina Workshop

16-21 October 2005 | Perth | WA

The Alumina Quality Workshop Education Committee and Alcoa World Alumina have offered to support a group of school science and mathematics teachers a chance to “rub shoulders” with an international body of scientists by inviting interested teachers to participate in the 7th International Quality Alumina Workshop in Perth this October. The Alumina Quality Workshop provides a forum to raise and discuss issues of interest in the production of smelting grade alumina.

As in past workshops, AQW 2005 seeks to attract contributions relating to cost, quality, productivity, safety, environmental, community interactions and other areas relevant to the production and use of alumina. The theme of the AQW 2005 workshop will be sustainability, with topics covering exploration, mining, refining, residue disposal and rehabilitation.

More than 300 delegates from throughout Australia and overseas are expected to attend AQW 2005 on 16-21 October. This is an ideal opportunity to network with colleagues and industry associates.

If you are a Perth metropolitan teacher and are interested in the opportunity, please contact our Education Manager Dr Dan Churach at dan.churach@csrp.com.au
