

A short course entitled “Plant Performance Evaluation” was offered at the BHP-Billiton Iron Ore Operations in Newman, Western Australia. The two-day mineral processing course was presented by Dr Nimal Subasinghe, Senior Lecturer in Extractive Metallurgy at Murdoch University. The first day deal with the theoretical and practical issues involved with data acquisition and sampling, the statistical treatment of samples and mass balancing and adjustment of survey data. Day two focused on efficiency measures in mineral processing with an in depth look at separation and performance curves. Dr Subasinghe used a mixture of lecture and workshop sessions to deliver course content. The course was jointly sponsored by Murdoch University and CSRP. |
