Welcome Back to Stevan Green

Stevan Green, CEO of CSRP, will be returning on the 1st November in a part-time capacity and will resume travel in the New Year. To ensure a smooth transition, Erica Smyth will be delegated certain responsibilities and will continue CSRP travel until Christmas. Welcome back Stevan.

 

On the Move

Dr Vanessa Guthrie, member of CSRP’s Industry Steering Committee (ISC), has taken up a position with URS. We hope Vanessa will continue as a member of the ISC, providing guidance on Program 1. We wish her luck in her new role.

 

CSRP Workshop, AGM and Participants Forum

A workshop looking at sustainability methodologies and tools used by industry, the CSRP Annual General Meeting and the Participants Forum will be held on 7 th, 8 th and 9 th December respectively. All 3 events will be held at the ARRC Building, 26 Dick Perry Ave, Kensington, WA (CSRP Headquarters).

CSRP Workshop

This will offer a workshop environment to all participants (and any of their employees) to hear about up to date methodologies being used to frame, assess and implement sustainability decisions.

 

AGM

This year’s AGM will be held on the 8th December 2005 at 2pm in the ARRC Auditorium.

 

Participants Forum

The Participants’ Forum will consist of a series of talks (and discussions) on Program 3 and Program 4 topics. The Forum will be lead by Prof Rene van Berkel (Program 3 Manager) and Dr Sharif Jahanshahi (Program 4 Manager). Further details on the Forum will be forwarded shortly.

Welcome New Students

We have three new students to welcome to CSRP.

Jacqueline Medvecka is completing her PhD at the University of Queensland and is supervised by Prof David Brereton. Her thesis is entitled “How to Adopt Sustainability as a Core Dimension of Decision Making in Projects for the Mining and Metallurgical Industries”.

Chris Beardmore and Senthil Dorai both are completing their Masters, again at the University of Queensland. Chris’s thesis is entitled “Water Management Improvement Analysis of Gold Processing Plants” and he is supervised by Prof Chris Moran. Senthil’s thesis is entitled “Newmont Energy System Analysis Project” and he is supervised by Dr Marcin Ziemski.
