Farewell and Welcome

Rachel Hope, the Executive Assistant at CSRP HQ has moved back home to New Zealand . We wish Rachel bon voyage and good luck for the future. Lisa Laurie, CSRP HQ's Admin Assistant, will be taking over from Rachel. Welcome Lisa.

 

3rd Year Review

The preparations for the 3 rd Year Review are now underway. The 3 rd Year Review consists of several different stages including an independent panel review and an industry survey. It commences in July and will be completed by December 2006

 

Student-Industry-CRC Symposium

The 2006 Student-Industry-CRC Symposium is being held from 18th-23rd June 2006 at the Central Queensland University (Marina Campus) in Gladstone. Registration forms, brochures and a draft program are now available.

 

New Students

We welcome 3 new students to CSRP in April. We have two new PhD students, Magid Ghiafeh Davoodi and Jitsangiam Peerapong, while Alan Jones has commenced his Masters. Magid’s thesis is entitled “Stability of concrete made from Red Sand and red mud in a marine environment” and is supervised by Hamid Nikraz at Curtin University . Jitsangiam’s thesis is entitled “Performance, Evaluation, and Enhancement of Red Sand for Road Bases, Embankments and Seawall fills” and Alan thesis is “Use of Red Sand for Stabilised landfill and cement manufacture”. Both Jitsangiam and Alan are supervised by Hamis Nikraz at Curtin University and Evan Jamieson at Alcoa World Alumina.

It would be wonderful to keep our publications lists up to date.
