CSRP By-product Utilisation and Sustainability Scholarship

The CSRP By-product Utilisation and Sustainability Scholarship has been established by the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Resource Processing (CSRP).  CSRP was an unincorporated joint venture established and supported under the Australian Government Cooperative Research Centre Program.

CSRP conducted research into sustainability as it applies to the minerals industry.  A specific area of investigation was the beneficial use of waste materials from industrial processes.

This scholarship was established to encourage further research into by-product (waste) utilisation and its contribution to a sustainable society.

To that end, the scholarship holder and their supervisor(s) are encouraged to seek advice and assistance on an appropriate research topic from representatives of the former CSRP Core Participants (Alcoa, ANSTO, BHP Billiton, CSIRO, Curtin University, Newmont, Rio Tinto, University of Queensland and Xstrata).

The scholarship is administered by the Dean of Graduate Studies at Curtin University of Technology

The terms of the scholarship will be broadly similar to other like scholarships offered at Curtin University. Students will be selected based on their academic record, their interest in by-product utilisation and sustainability issues, and their planned research program.

The value of the scholarship each year will be determined by the Dean of Graduate Studies.
